Developed under the auspices of the Delaware Business Roundtable Education Committee, Vision 2015 is a public/private/civic effort dedicated to developing a world-class public education system in Delaware. The Vision 2015 Steering Committee released a plan for transforming education in Delaware on October 17, 2006. The plan has been informed by international and national research; input from over 500 educators, students, parents and citizens throughout Delaware; and consulting expertise.
The Vision 2015 coalition—including the Delaware Department of Education, the University of Delaware, and the private sector—will begin to work with a small group of school districts and charter schools to implement Vision 2015 in the fall of 2007. This group will be called the Vision Network. The Vision Network will allow the coalition to focus its implementation support efforts on a manageable number of districts and schools, and will create model schools and systems that eventually will be replicated at scale across the state.
