The Valkyries is an all-girl rock band from Seattle, WA. We like to play benefit shows in the Puget Sound area whenever possible, especially to support nonprofit/volunteer-run organizations that serve the needs of young women and/or promote the all-ages music scene. One organization we work particularly closely with is Skate Like A Girl, http://www.skatelikeagirl.com. They coordinate skateboarding events in the Pacific Northwest for female skateboarders and gals that want to learn to skate, and are committed to creating an inclusive skateboarding culture.

There are many ways you can get involved, from promoting our shows (both online and offline), suggesting possible organizations to support, and recommending venues that are open to hosting benefit shows and other events that support nonprofit/volunteer-run organizations. We also welcome suggestions of like-minded female rock bands to join forces with, in the Seattle area and beyond!
