Florida Institutional Legal Services (FILS) is dedicated to protecting and advancing the rights of prisoners and others in state custody by providing high quality legal services. We represent prisoners, jail inmates, juveniles in secure detention and individuals in indefinite civil detention or commitment. FILS represents institutionalized people in class actions, impact litigation, and limited individual cases, FILS also provides direct legal and hotline services to formerly incarcerated individuals reentering society through our Reentry Assistance Project
