Mission:
La Isla Foundation educates consumers, producers, and workers about the dangers inherent in the current models used by the agricultural industry throughout the Americas. By working with existing institutions, we will create alternative means of production and compensation that are better for the environmental, physical, and financial health of everyone affected by the current mode of production.
La Isla Foundation’s local mission in Nicaragua is to coordinate local institutions to determine the cause of the kidney failure epidemic in western Nicaragua, facilitate its treatment, educate the workers, and support their families.
