Behar for New York:

Steve Behar is an attorney, a small business owner and a political and community activist running for the New York City Council out of District 19. Over the years, Steve has effectuated real change throughout Northeastern Queens. Through Democrats for New Politics, a local independent Democratic club in Bayside, Steve has worked to bring elected officials, candidates, community leaders and renowned experts to Northeast Queens to teach and inform the community of the issues we face.

We are in need of an intern who is interested in legislative or electoral politics, and/or social justice campaigning.
Interns have the opportunity to get involved with and learn grassroots organizing skills as well as the intricacies of local and state government.

Primary duties include conducting internet research on relevant topics, preparing materials for outreach to voters, and communicating with our supporters. Interns may also be asked to assist with administrative activities such as data entry and mailings.

Useful skills include knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, experience conducting internet research and excellent critical reading and writing skills. Applicants should also possess a fierce commitment to social justice and the ability to work as part of team.
We are looking for an intern to start immediately and we are willing to work with your academic institution if you are interested in receiving course credit. Internship schedules can be flexible to accommodate the needs of the intern.
