Mission:
Lost Valley Educational Center is a nonprofit environmental educational center dedicated to empowering people to reduce their impact on the earth by teaching permaculture and sustainable living skills. Our site, located 18 miles outside of Eugene, Oregon at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, is also home to an aspiring ecovillage.
Our programs include:
-Camassia Institute for Sustainable Communities: We teach various Permaculture and Ecovillage Design Courses, as well as host short educational workshops and tours around sustainable living topics.
-Internship Program: We host eight to twelve interns a year in various positions such as Land Stewardship, Food Preservation, Grants and Development and more.
-Nature Center: We maintain 87 acres including trails, regenerative forest, gardens, ponds, and meadows.
-Conference and Retreat Facility: We provide meeting rooms, lodging, delicious organic food, and a beautiful setting for groups or organizations interested in renting our facilities for their needs.
-Intentional Community: As an aspiring ecovillage, Lost Valley is home to approximately thirty people who reside here.
-Camas Meadow Housing Cooperative (In development): We are currently planning to build green multiplex units as well as retrofit our current cabins to develop long term housing options at Lost Valley.
We offer tours and visitor's days for those interested in our programs. Please check out our website for more information!
