Mission:
Background
OAN, Inc., was founded in 1989, and incorporated in 1990. It was formed by a group of concerned Nigerians to develop
and execute strategies that would address the concerns of our community. The founders recognized that there exists:
* The absence of an umbrella organization that was dedicated to Nigerian issues of any nature. An organization that was non-ethnic, that embraces Nigerians from all walks of life.
* The absence of a credible Nigerian organization that was dedicated to enhance the image of Nigerians in the United States, to address the stereotypes of Nigerians in the American media.
* The absence of a credible Nigerian organization devoted to the formation of a formidable Nigerian community in the United States.
Our Mission
* To promote, foster, increase and advance the cultural, civic, social and economic welfare of Nigeians residing in the United States.
* To aid and assist Nigerians to acclimatize to life in the United States.
* To enhance the image of Nigerians in the United States.
To strive for unity among Nigerians all over the world.
* To encourage the economic growth, human rights and political empowerment of Nigerians in the United States.
