The private Charitable Society `Umid Yeri` was been created in 1997 by the well known TV journalist Nigar Mansimli.
Umid Yeri is the only organization of its kind in Azerbaijan that takes care of children who spend most of their lives on the streets of Baku. Some of them live at the Asylum House permanently and some come every day for food, clothing or just to spend a night.
Umid Yeri` charitable society also was the 1- st among private societies.
For 9 years functioning `Umid yeri` picked up from streets and saved from danger more than 800 children. Concerning the problem of the street children and have proved to the government that this problem exist.
The mission and goals of the organization are to protect the orphans and neglected children, lonely women and the children from poor families.
