"I think this initiative is brilliant. There are so many people in this world who want to act out against injustice and the horrors of the world, but they think their singular person won't make any difference. This site helps people see that there are hundreds of thousands of other people thinking the exact same thing, and it provides them with a meeting place, per se. The hard work of everyone who visits this site could make a very serious difference.
I want to get involved because, as an Anthropology student, I have read books about so many different cultures of the world that it has broadened my horizons in valuable ways. But reading books is not enough; I want to see these people and cultures with my own hands, and I want to help their lives in any way possible. "

Description:
I am graduating from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Sociology and a Minor in Spanish language. I have also done extensive work towards an Anthropology degree. This background pushes me to look for jobs where I'm working with people and cultures directly rather than being in a corporate office environment. I have a WIDE range of interests, but all of them boil down to a desire to study people!
My ultimate dream job is an Ethnographer - traveling to different places of the world, living right in the peoples' communities, studying them and finding out as much as I can about them, and eventually writing a book.
