More than anything, I care about the future of our global community in the face of climate change and the shortage of resources it will bring. As we "shift from geopolitics to geoeconomics" (Jacob Weisberg, "Slate http://www.slate.com/id/2198397/), I want to reach the end of my life satisfied that I did all I could to help fight against widening economic gaps, food and clean-water shortages, and the dangerous attitudes that lead to war. I want to be able to demonstrate to my children that I did all I could to help pass on to them a world that was headed for disaster, but was able to change course--a world where the desire for prosperity and progress prevents any thought of conflict and where the old political lines come second to efforts to work together to survive in peace and mutual respect.
