Originally from Newport News, Virginia, I am a 2004 graduate of Duke University (Durham, NC), and I hold a a BA in Theater Studies (Summa Cum Laude) and minors in history and psychology. I have been a professional actor/singer and theatre educator for the past few years, working with such non-profit, professional companies as The Barter Theatre (Abingdon, VA), Flat Rock Playhouse (Flat Rock, NC), and Hampstead Stage Company (Center Barnstead, NH). I am passionate about the arts, education, and politics, and I am a skilled and experienced writer. I also have a great deal of experience interacting with the public and with people from diverse backgrounds: my theatre contracts have included acting tours to schools and community centers in over a dozen states and, last fall, I worked as a theatre teaching intern at Flat Rock Playhouse and as a substance abuse and bullying prevention facilitator in middle schools in Greenville, SC(through the South Carolina Children's Theatre's KnowWay outreach program). Right now, I am most passionate about getting Barack Obama elected, and, this fall, I am hoping to work for the Obama campaign in my home state of Virginia, which will be a crucial swing state in this presidential election.
