Description:
I'd like to work with and for veterans and their families. I'm an attorney in transition from working in the labor movement for over ten years, both as an in-house attorney to a labor union and as an organizer. I work best as an advocate, although I can be a neutral if necessary (i.e. as an arbitrator, mediator). To me, being a lawyer means guiding a person through a system that they are unfamiliar with and possibly intimidated by but that I know and understand.
I prefer work that actively helps individuals, or working for an organization that is working to improve lives. I want to be involved with solutions that have a direct effect on people.
I can talk to anyone if I have the information needed and the authority to deliver it. I could easily be the mouthpiece for a cause in a variety of settings.
I love writing. I love doing research. I love to advocate, to defend, to challenge, debate, explain and educate.
