Description:

Travel to Teach is teaching in a small school in a temple in Chiang Mai.

In the northern parts of Thailand there are several Refugee Camps and also many illegal immigrants from Burma.
These people are often very eager to learn English since they want to return to their country.
We teach classes of elementary English and play with children.
We also tutor young adultsand monks in afternoon classes.
Travel to Teach strives to follow the Guidelines for Ethical Volunteering at (http://http://www.ethicalvolunteering.org/index.html)

We therefore restrict our work to two different areas of Thailand. We work in the North, in Pai and Chiang Mai, in the Northeast, in and around Nongkhai, so that we can keep a continuing presence and hence make a difference.
