Description:

Professional, licensed cosmetologists or barbers are needed to provide occasional haircuts or styling to HospiceCare patients both in the Don and Marilyn Anderson Center and in patient's homes. Sometimes HospiceCare patients are unable to leave their homes for haircuts or styling; in other circumstances, patients know that they are nearing the end of life and want to have their hair styled or trimmed. Providing this volunteer service is a compassionate gesture that improves the patient's quality of life.

How to Apply:

The requirements for this volunteer position include the following: Complete the volunteer application/process and orientation session. Volunteers will complete an 18-hour training course, which is provided by HospiceCare. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and will be required to complete yearly TB screening. Barber/Cosmetology volunteers must provide proof of state licensure and have reliable transportation.
