Cambodia's tourist and trade industries are growing rapidly, creating economic opportunities. Many of the jobs require knowledge of English, but teachers qualified to teach English are scarce. Volunteers are welcome to teach English and assist with other subjects in primary and secondary schools in Phnom Penh. Volunteers must be prepared to lead classes and work with limited materials. Volunteer positions are available at all levels including primary school, secondary school, and adult classes. Volunteers must be prepared to lead classes and work with limited materials.International volunteers are out to make a difference, and it is important to keep perspective on your ability and the big picture. Volunteers provide steps toward larger goals. Sometimes in can be difficult to keep that in mind when you see how much work needs to be done. Don’t be overwhelmed, the impression that you leave behind is immeasurable. The most successful volunteers are flexible and able to adapt the daily activities to the given day--remember each day is different!

Project Duration:
This program can last any length of time from two weeks up to six months. The typical duration is 4-8 weeks.

Program Cost:
A two week program costs US $935
Each additional month is approximately US $300

Accommodation is provided for volunteers either with a host family. The volunteer will be provided with a room and two meals each day. All volunteers must be prepared to live with a Cambodian family and be willing to adapt to Cambodian standards of living.
