Description:
Gain excellent experience in Marketing and Outreach! This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in a career in social marketing and nonprofit promotion.
The Medicare Rights Center seeks a recent college graduate with excellent writing, communications and computer skills, for a VISTA position in our Manhattan office, beginning in January 2008. The VISTA will work closely with experienced senior staff.
Main objectives of this position include:
1) building awareness among health care professionals, information agents, caregivers, people with Medicare and the general public about a wide range of products and services developed by staff at the Medicare Rights Center, including electronic newsletters, web-based tools and print publications; and
2) researching and developing partnerships with national and state-based agencies, particularly those serving caregivers and people with mental health needs, which promote the use of Medicare Interactive (MI), MRC’s web-based information resource.
Some specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Forge and manage new partnerships with NY-based agencies to promote MI
- Perform weekly tracking of MI traffic, to identify key factors driving usage
- Gain insight into and implement successful outreach tactics
- Build awareness among health care professionals, caregivers, people with Medicare, and the general public about health care rights, benefits, and options through Medicare Interactive
Candidates should be able to think creatively and juggle multiple assignments simultaneously. Time management skills are essential.
