Ideology

The experience to live and work with people from different cultural backgrounds should create understanding and respect, something we should all work on and feel responsible for in this world!
Besides the many local communities and NGO’s we work with by the placement of volunteers (camps and individually, long and short term) we are working on the set up of several permanent locations in India from where all activities are organized.
The local NGO knows what work needs to be done and we support them in their work.
Our support consists of social and sometimes financial support as well and bringing active volunteers from different countries that are interested to learn, share and are willing to work together for improvement and understanding! FSL works together with a large number of other NGO’s all across the country in supportng the volunteer and social structure.
Volunteering is the heart of our work and activities; we initiate programs to work together with local communities in building a more peaceful and self-content society.

Things from your home for the country presentation (music, books, pictures);

Culture Exchange
The locals would be more than happy to welcome you to work in their areas. Please use this opportunity to exchange experiences, to learn more about other social, cultural and political living conditions and to show them, in return, yours. In order to promote that, we will have a special cultural evening, when the volunteers will be able to present their countries and have some fun together with the locals.
We expect volunteers to be patient and take initiative in the work. Since language may be a barrier, you should be imaginative in designing ways to convey this message.

Participation Fees for one month

Since there is no external funding to support the expenses of volunteers and coordinating the exchange, volunteers are expected to pay a participation fee in order to cover the expenses of food, water, transportation, camps, communication and staff support. The VSFP program offers the most affordable and reliable program in India.
The participation fee for this camp is Rs.8000/- (Eight thousands only), to be paid in Indian Rupees only on arrival, in Indian Rupees only.
(Approx. 280 USD/140 Euros, this indication fees is only for your reference, the exchange rates might vary in time).
More information about the finances of VSFP-India, for your information:
VSFP-India is a non-profit body registered under the Indian Trust Act. We receive absolutely no financial support from the government of India or from any other foreign agency. The main source of income available for VSFP is the participation fee that is collected from the volunteers.

Accommodation: At the Guest House, in shared rooms.

Accommodation can vary a lot in our camps from youth hostels, resorts, schools, huts to empty houses (and sometimes in tents). The accommodation will be simple but comfortable and clean, but be prepared to live with simple facilities during these two weeks. We expect volunteers to keep the accommodation clean and tidy, during and after the Placement.
