Description:
The Patronato Nacional de Rehabilitacion is an institution that cares for people with some type of disability and that some way or another do not have a family or have been abandoned. They serve the disabled children and adults that someway or another are orphans. This rehabilitation centre treats people of all ages with disabilities who have been abandoned by their families or who have no family. The centre needs all the help they can get to keep the place running and give the patients the treatment they deserve. Because these patients have no family, any extra attention and help will make a huge impact on their lives.
Tasks will depend on the volunteer's training, skills, and level of Spanish. A volunteer with a background in nursing or social work that has a solid grasp of Spanish will be more likely to work with patients.
Volunteers with less training or Spanish can still be a huge help. Main Tasks will be manual labour mainly:
Helping in the kitchen
Helping keep the place clean and tidy
Eventually and depending on the social worker instructions volunteers can have more direct contact with patients.
Volunteers should be of age 18 or above 18 with minimum education of graduation. Volunteers with special skills are preferred which are as follows:
