Wokai is a user-driven microfinance website that connects contributors around the world with borrowers in China. Users choose borrowers to support, monitor repayments, and select who to fund next. Users can also create, consume, and share bi-lingual content on China microfinance. Through information and capital exchange, Wokai works to increase opportunities for the poor, ultimately decreasing the income gap in China.
Wokai's Bay Area chapter is searching for enthusiastic volunteers to fill the following officers positions. You will join a group of 10 committed volunteers here in the Bay Area and work closely with our headquarters in Beijing. If you (1) have the expertise we are looking for; (2) are willing to spend 5 hours a week on average with us; and (3) want to make an impact in microfinance in China, please e-mail your resume and a cover letter to

Events Associate:
- Create and design Wokai Event Manual
- Oversee the planning, execution and follow-ups of all events
- Decide what PR materials to use and how to cater events to target groups
- Work with rotating Event Coordinator to execute events
- Supervise wokai interns in event organizing
