Description:

The Chordoma Foundation is a North Carolina based nonprofit cancer research organization working with patients, doctors, and scientists to accelerate the development of effective treatments for a neglected form of cancer called chordoma.

A very dedicated volunteer programmer has custom-built a set of social networking and fundraising tools to help engage and empower our constituents unlike any other software can. The application is currently in an early release and we are seeking to further develop it's functionality. We are therefore looking for a talented programmer to help build out an exciting set of features.

The position will involve about 10-15 hours of work per week, and can be performed remotely from anywhere.

Projects will include:

  • designing and building new features
  • developing solutions to scale-up use
  • implementing OpenSocial API
  • identifying and fixing bugs

Qualifications:

  • proficiency in Ruby on Rails
  • good problem solving skills
  • self motivation and reliability
  • a good sense of design is a plus
