Description:

Project: VISION is a young nonprofit youth organization located in the Chinatown/Bridgeport community on the near south side of Chicago. We are looking for a dedicated tutor to help teach an ACT prep course for 10-15 high school juniors from January-April 2009. The course will cover English, Math, Science, and Reading sections. As the tutor, you will give mini-lectures, administer practice tests and facilitate group discussions. All teaching materials will be provided. Committment will be about 3 hours, once per week on Mondays or Tuesdays from 4-7pm (1 hour for preparation and 2 hours of class time).

We are looking for individuals with...
-Experience and most of all enthusiasm for working with high school students.
-Experience with the ACT college entrance exam and comfort with teaching all subjects (Math, English, Science, and Reading).
