Description:
The Valley Zoo Development Society (VZDS) is a registered charity and non-for-profit organization committed to raising funds and awareness for the Valley Zoo. Since 1988, the VZDS has acted in partnership with the City of Edmonton to ensure the continued development of this treasured local facility. We are looking for a few conscientious and dedicated volunteer Board and Committee Members who are interested in getting actively involved with the VZDS in supporting the Valley Zoo. We are especially looking for people with experience in accounting and fundraising but knowledge and skills in policy development, event planning, business management and committee leadership would be beneficial. Board members are initially elected for a three-year term.
Requirements:
• Commitment to the mission of the VZDS;
• Attendance at monthly Board meetings and Annual General Meeting;
• Willingness to serve on committees;
• Attendance at committee meetings; and
• Support of and participation in fundraising/special events.
