Help clients by providing them with the information and/or assistance necessary for their needs.
Office volunteers assist staff by answering phones in English and Spanish, assist clients by filling out job, rent, or benefit application forms; keep our I & R pamphlets updated and organized, help with computer data entry, write thank you notes, post new information on bulletin board,
help making food bags, and other assignments as necessary.

Time frame
La Luz would like a commitment of at least 6 months of 4 hours per week. Scheduling is at the discretion of the volunteer. La Luz is open Monday through Friday form 8:30 AM to Noon or 1:00PM.-4:30PM.

Qualifications Sought
Preferably bilingual in Spanish and English (beginner proficiency accepted); possess good verbal and written communication skills; be flexible, a team player and with a positive attitude who is respectful of other cultures.

Benefits:
While improving proficiency in a second language, the volunteer will gain knowledge of other people and cultures as well as gain experience working with a community non-profit agency for coursework requirements. Student accreditation may also be possible by a previously arranged school and student agreement.
