Description:
GVI offers several volunteer opportunities throughout Nepal including work in schools and orphanages, with ex-street children, and on environmental projects. Nepal is a developing country with a large percentage of its population living below the poverty line. It is a culturally amazing country – the only Hindu kingdom in the world, with Hindu Temples and Buddhist shrines scattered throughout the land. Of the 14 peaks above 8,000 meters in the world, eight are located in Nepal! Join this GVI volunteer program and experience first hand the beauty of the Himalayan mountains and Kathmandu, and participate in outdoor adventures including trekking and white water rafting.
*How this program makes a difference*
Aside from providing invaluable help with hands on work, volunteer contributions are a vital source of funding for many of GVI’’s projects in Nepal. This especially applies to the children’s homes, most of whom have very limited resources and no regular income.
Highlights:
• Immerse yourself in the Nepali culture
• Learn the language and culture
• Teach and help children across the country
• Rafting, trekking and an elephant safari
Qualifications:
No special training or qualifications are required as you will receive training in the field.
Dates and Costs:
This expedition runs for 4 or 10 weeks throughout the year.
Prices from $2140
