Description:
Endangered Species Day is a national celebration of wildlife and wild places.
Endangered Species Day was launched in 2005 with a unanimous Senate resolution. Every year, zoos, aquariums, parks, wildlife refuges, botanical gardens, libraries, schools and community centers participate in events. In 2008, there were more than 100 events in 33 states plus Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico, including Disney's Wild Animal Park, the National Zoo, the San Diego Zoo and the Girl Scouts participating. (For the complete list, see www.endangeredspeciesday.org.)
The Endangered Species Day organizer will help to grow the event
* contacting potential event venues
* preparing outreach and marketing materials
* recruiting participants to attend events
* posting event details on website
