The Banyan has a very newly updated human resources departement which is looking for volunteers with the following interests/skills;

1. Interest in Human Resources Work
2. Basic hands-on experience (best in the HR sector)
OR
3. Basic theoretical knowledge in a related area (organizational or motivational psychology, training, economics, group processes, management consulting,...)
4. Able to take on responsibility for small project under guidance

For non-local volunteers, The Banyan will help find accommodation for you. This may be shared with other volunteers in a hostel or guest house. The type of accommodation is normally quite basic but can be discussed prior to arrival. Length of stay is entirely up to the volunteer; The Banyan is in need of constant ongoing volunteer support.

Breakfast and lunch are provided free of charge. Transport to and from Chennai is not covered by The Banyan. However, airport/train/bus station pick ups are available. Transportation to and from work and accommodation is at cost to the volunteer. It will be about Rs. 50 ($1.38 USD) depending on proximity.

Chennai is a large city with plenty of restaurants, markets and malls and it is advised to bring enough to cover personal expenses. Rs.8000 ($160USD) should be enough per month.
