Description:

This could be your chance to make a positive difference in a child’s life! We are actively recruiting mentors (both male and female) for children who could use a positive role model in their lives. Mentoring Children of Promise strives to make the best adult/child matches possible by taking into consideration the personalities, activities and interests of our mentees and mentors with the intention of creating a long lasting friendship. .

We have a several boys on the waiting list in Snohomish County that would love to spend time with a caring adult. All it takes is 6 hours per month of your time, doing activities you love to do...

T. wants a young person to do fun stuff with. He is 7 years old and loves anything on wheels – roller skating, skateboarding, and biking! A big fan of SpongeBob Square Pants, T. says he loves to laugh. He is high energy, curious and inquisitive.

C. has recently turned 14 years old and lives in a group foster home. He loves to fish and really wants to learn about deep-sea fishing. He would love to spend some time on a boat or just at the beach with someone to talk to.

N. is 14 years old and speaks fluent Pig Latin. He likes fantasy books, UFOs and video games, of course! He really needs a male mentor to help him work on personal hygiene and to spend time out of his house – like at a science museum!

L. is 7 years old and loves soccer and anything outdoors. Need a hand digging for worms for your garden? L. loves to get his hands dirty! Know how to make a fishing pole? L. would love to learn! Was your favorite subject in school P.E.? You and L. would have a blast!

A. is 7 years old and loves to draw racecars. Challenge this little guy to a ping-pong game or simply spend an afternoon playing superheroes! He needs some one with high energy to keep up with him. His father is in prison and he lives with his grandmother.

K. is 13 years old and would love to meet a mechanic that could teach him how to work on cars. He lives in a group foster home and has a whole list of things he would like to try if given the chance: horseback riding, basketball, skateboarding, ice skating! He is looking for someone funny and energetic to play with him.

D. is a 15 year old boy who wants to be a UPS driver when he grows up. He describes himself as “a good kid”. He loves sports, especially basketball. Need a friend to shoot hoops with or spend the day at the batting cages? This is the guy for you!

E. is a great 6 year old boy, whose is high energy and very curious about bugs and caterpillars. He needs to spend time with someone who is active and wants to spend a lot of time outdoors. Dad is in prison, and Mom is a single parent who is working full time.
