StandUp Parenting is a national organization seeking experienced persons with specific business experience to oversee operation of this 501(c)(3) public charity.
StandUp Parenting provides education and support through a network of local support groups. Whether the parent of a teen or an adult, we teach successful strategies to help parents make changes and effectively manage the next crisis. Our goal is to empower parents and their young person, and to keep the family intact.
Do you appreciate a good challenge? StandUp Parenting is a grass roots, start-up organization that needs to build its Board of Directors with persons who have experience in fundraising, technology, and/or PR/marketing. Check out our web site at:

Candidates should also have one or both of the following:
A working knowledge of public relations and/or program development techniques,
Familiarity with non-profit development, as well as developing and maintaining sound financial practices.
Prospective members of the StandUp Parenting Board of Directors should show an ability and
willingness to:
Create and execute plans,
Chair committees and serve as members of committees,
Communicate their beliefs and interest in the StandUp program,
Raise money for the organization,
Participate actively in all meetings of the Board,
Make decisions which put the needs of the organization above personal desires and interests/Support
publicly the decisions of the Board and Executive Director, and
Represent StandUp Parenting, it’s mission and vision, to various agencies, organizations and the general public.
Ability to travel within the USA to support meetings of the Board of Directors, StandUp Parenting conferences, and to meet with prospective donors and partners.
Qualities:
Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people at all levels to inspire trust, a willingness to contribute hands-on in a variety of activities, ability to function effectively in a highly collaborative team environment, and be willing to work in a virtual BOD environment.
If agreeable to the applicant and Board of Directors, this position may be extended for more than 2 years.
