Description:

United Planet (UP) offers one to 12 week volunteer abroad Quests in Thailand. Volunteer placements are at local schools serving both Thai children and Burmese refugees in the Ranong province, bordering Burma on the Andaman Coast. Ranong is one of the few unspoiled locations in Thailand, despite its abundance of waterfalls, lakes and rivers. Volunteers teach English and also assist with other classes as needed, including creating class activities and materials. No formal teaching experience or language is needed for this Quest.

See http://www.unitedplanet.org/volunteer-in-thailand for more information.

The Kingdom of Thailand is a beautiful and independent country that lies in the heart of South East Asia. Thailand is a hot travel destination, owing in large part to the spice and variety of its food, people and beautiful landscape. The cultures and traditions in Thailand are significantly influenced by those of India, China, and many western countries. As the national religion, Theravada Buddhism, is practiced by more than 95% of all Thais, Thailand is also one of the most devoutly Buddhist countries in the world.

The Thailand Volunteer Program is also open to families, couples and individuals, 18 years of age and older.
