Description:

SENIOR SERVICES is looking for Volunteer Coaches for A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls classes throughout King County.

A Matter of Balance is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of older adults who have concerns about falls.

Coach Criteria includes: Willingness to lead a small group; the ability to perform range of motion and low-level endurance exercises; ability to carry up to 20lbs; an interest in working with older adults and good communication and interpersonal skills.

Training Expectations includes: Attending 12 hours of coach training and thereby earning A Matter of Balance Certification and also agree to facilitate 2 Matter of Balance Sessions (8 x 2hour classes per session) within one year of certification.

Ideally we would like Volunteers to make a 1-2 year commitment to this program.

LIFE EXPERIENCES VALUED – with education or health care experience a plus.
