Youth Arts Organization Needs Volunteer Web Master

Art in Action, an Oakland based youth arts organization is looking for
a talented web master who would like to volunteer their time and
talents to assist with various web projects.

We are an organization largely run as a volunteer collective that trains youth in music recording and production, film making and editing, performance and spoken word. The work done by Art in Action youth is powerful and moving. Much of their work addresses racial and
economic oppression and youth violence. Our organizational goal is
to promote healing and empowerment for youth through the arts.

With your help, the voices of young people using their creativity to overcoming poverty and violence may be heard and inspire others.

for one of our projects (www.myspace.com/covrecords) to get a feel for the work we're doing and what we could use support with.

Here is our wish-list for projects we would LOVE to have a volunteer
web master take on (all or some):

-Start using a web design program (like dreamweaver) that is accesible
to Art in Action staff so we can do updates and edits to the page, and
train some of the Art in Action staff and youth to use this program
-Create a system for Art in Action staff and youth leaders to post
movies, music, articles, photos, and website links updates on our
www.artinactionworld.org page (do these updates at least every week to
keep the page current and viewers interested)
-Create a "blog" feature on our Art in Action website so we can update
the community about what we are doing and receive comments from people
-Ensure that we have a Paypal link for donations, and links for people
to purchase our music (CD Baby and Itunes links) and movies, as well as
our Art in Action T-shirts
-Design the www.turfunity.org and .com pages, as well as
www.digthisstory.org and .com pages. Create graphics template for both
pages, and set up the pages as business internet sites where companies
can contract youth media arts services
-Create a system for linking all of our on-line pages together
(youtube, facebook, twitter, etc), and keeping these pages current
-Create graphics and logos to brand our organizations and business
projects so we are visible on the internet
-Develop strategies to Increase our Internet Search Optimization

Your help will go a long way in supporting youth empowerment and
social justice in Oakland. Also, of course, as a non-profit, any time

you great references and tons of appreciation!
