Description:
Organizational Background
Technically Learning enables teachers to inspire and engage students in science, technology, engineering, and math subjects (STEM). TL believes that every student, regardless of their gender, race, or socio-economic background, should have the opportunity and resources to excel in STEM fields. By improving the quality of math and science education through hands-on technology, we aim to open the door to STEM fields for all students.
TL uses LEGO Robotics to provide hands-on learning activities for students, and has created resources for teachers that integrate with existing school curriculums. LEGO Robotics gives students a chance to learn about mechanical design and computer programming, while reinforcing many basic math and science concepts. Students design and build robots constructed of LEGOs and program them using a visual programming language.
TL currently relies on board volunteerism to accomplish our work. Demand has grown to the point that we require seed and/or sustaining funding to hire a full-time, salaried employee. The Grant Writer will help accomplish this goal with the possibly of joining us in a staffed position upon successfully securing grant money.
