Description:
Girls For A Change empowers young women to create social change in their own communities. As a volunteer “Girl Action Team Coach” you work with a partner coach and a group of 5-25 girls. Coaches guide girls through the process of identifying a community issue and solving it. Most importantly coaches tell girls they are powerful and valued.
The coach position with GFC is a dynamic and rewarding experience that leads to connections with girls and other adult women in the Phoenix metro area, implementation of a social change project and a contribution toward putting women at the global leadership table. Coaches and girls form teams that meet once per week for 12 weeks. GFC also provides orientation, monthly trainings, a Coach manual and full time support.
We ask coaches to commit for either the fall session, August 2009-December 2009 OR the spring session, January 2010-May 2010. The monthly time commitment is 10-15 hours per month. This includes one meeting per week with your team for 12 weeks.
Coach opportunities are available throughout Maricopa County.
Girls For A Change Coaches also participate in personal and professional development through the training program.
