Project options include: Health Care, Conservation, Teaching, Journalism, Micro-Business, Youth Sports, and Building Schools based on the skills of the volunteers and the needs of the community.

Intern and gain excellent personal and professional experience in Mysore, India. Situated in South India, Mysore and the surrounding region is particularly known for its coconut groves, rice paddies, exceptional vegetarian cuisines, relaxed nature and inquisitive people. Mysore itself, a city of about a million inhabitants at the foot of the Chamundi Hills, was the cultural capital of the Wodeyar dynasty and is home to world renowned palaces, temples and one of the major yoga centers in India. In addition, interns enjoy a flexible program structure which allows them to gradually increase their level of immersion. Living with a local family and cultural visits and events enhance immersion in the local culture. Excursions include visits to Mysore palaces and temples, trips to national parks, weekend development projects, cultural classes, and remote community cultural festivals.

IEP offers customized volunteer programs to students, recent graduates, and individuals from all academic backgrounds and levels of experience. Volunteer placements are based on the country location, length of stay, and desired project type. IEP volunteer projects focus on community development and service. Our goal is to provide placements where participants can contribute to a community while learning from the local people and environment.

All volunteer programs include the customized placement, housing, travel insurance, airport pickup, on-site orientation and support services. Additional amenities such as language training and cultural and adventure activities may be included.
