Description:
Project 2nd life is a global non-profit organization with a vision of creating net zero schools around the world. We have schools in Denmark, USA and Namibia, Africa who voluntarily have agreed to join the project. The schools will all agree to implement a sustainability board and commit to educate students about many issues, including but not limited to renewable energy, permaculture and land use wisdom, plastic bag bans, women's leadership in the area of environmental reform, and many others.
Our project will give the schools a platform from which they can share their experiences and find the most cost effective way of reaching net zero and becoming responsible citizens of the international community.
During December of 2009 we will run a project at each school, which will create awareness globally. This project invites the community and multiple green non-profits to participate at the Sustainability Day. Through this project we will show that global cooperation is possible and by all of the schools contributing and spreading awareness we can make a long lasting difference.
The 2nd Life Intl Green Tech and Education project team is looking for a grant-writer to assist us in finding grant opportunities, drafting letters of inquiry, and authoring grant proposals to obtain money for the organization’s operating costs and programs. The grant-writer will research, develop and write in-depth grant proposals on behalf of the organization and will work with the organization’s leadership to assess program needs and maximize proposal ideas. This person will need to maintain organized files and track all grants that are submitted and all opportunities for future use.
