Description:
The OS-based Volunteer Coordinator assists in human resource planning, recruitment and selection, training and recognition of all volunteers working for {fws} overseas. The OS-based Volunteer Coordinator supports the OS-based Volunteer Manager to create and build a strong and effective team of OS-based volunteers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receive and accurately file applications from prospective OS-based volunteers
• Respond to all overseas enquiries in a timely manner while following policy and procedure
• Ensure regular communication with all OS-based volunteers and deal with any enquiries or issues as appropriate
• Promote the link to {fws}s gimme shelter e-newsletter to all OS-based volunteers, increasing its circulation
• Keep the OS-based Volunteer Register current by adding applicants & their details regularly, and filing on the fws network (currently Google Docs)
• Ensure data is accurate and up to date for regular reporting purposes
• Ensure the OS-based Volunteer Team keeps files of CV’s and PD’s on the fws network (currently Google Docs)
• Conduct initial short listing of the most suitable applicants for OS-based volunteer positions based on CVs, experience and other criteria
• Within three days after Application Closing Date, supply fws member who identified volunteer vacancy with the CVs and Volunteer Application Forms of the most suitable applicants
• Respond to unsuccessful applicants, and encourage them to apply for similar/suitable positions if appropriate
• Support OS-based Volunteer Manager in setting up interviews of applicants for vacant roles

• Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks
• Understand and adhere to the values of fws, as outlined on the fws website
• Desire to be make a difference while contributing to a fun but dedicated group of volunteers
