Description:
The 'Out and About' program enables people who are frail elderly or people with disabilities to access services and opportunities in their local community. Our volunteer drivers use our new vehicles to collect our service users from their homes and transport them to pre-arranged destinations. Our drivers only provide the transport aspect of the service, clients undertake their activities independently. Volunteers are requested to make an ongoing commitment, if possible for 6 months. Volunteers can choose to contribute one or two half days, one whole day or two days each week or fortnight to the program. Driver are provided with full training and full staff support on each day of transport. Transport occurs between the hours of 8.45am and 4pm from Monday to Friday of each week. Volunteers require a Victorian Drivers License. Volunteers are invited to participate in the life of the organization and we provide four social events each year to thank and celebrate with our volunteers.
