CWC Children's Village has its headquarters in Accra-Ghana, West Africa and registered with the Ghana Government as a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) and non profit making.

The Children's Village, was founded by Rev. Hansen Mettle and his wife Mrs. Juliana Mettle in 1999. It mobilizes financial and material support to meet the needs of the under privileged and orphaned children in Africa.

The organisation feeds, clothes, provides shelter and edcucate abandoned children. The children are housed with a "House Mother" who is a trained Social Welfare Officer. The organisation also provides material support to rural women to help them set up small businesses.

The Children's Village requires the following volunteers:

*Orphan's Care Assistant is required to help the children throughout the day. This can entail helping them get ready for school and just generally giving them love, attention and a smile.

*A pre-school teacher is required for children below the age of 5. This will include planning, implementing and evaluating the nursery programme.

*Health Care Volunteer is required to teach the orphans about health issues such as hygiene, sanitation and STDs. The ideal volunteer will also be able to teach basic first aid.

*Primary School Teachers are required to teach children between the ages of 5 and 12 in the following subjects: Art, Drama, Music, English, Mathematics, Science and French.

*Kitchen Assistant is required to make meals for the orphans & teach them the importance of a healthy diet. You will need to familiarize yourself with local products.

Computer Instructor and/or Web designer is required to both look at developing a website and teaching both staff and students basic computer work.

Volunteers must have a background of relevance to the individual position and have a strong interest in helping disadvantaged children.
