Description:
Teach English and life skills to disadvantaged, refugee, and hill tribe children!
Do have experience teaching or working with children? Are you searching for hands-on volunteer opportunities in Thailand that don’t charge additional fees?
Come volunteer for The Life Skills Development Foundation at one of our newly-opened learning centers! The learning centers, located in our project sites in Pai and Pang Mapha (in Mae Hong Son province) and Pasang (in Lamphun province), were created to allow local children access to safe, child-friendly spaces where they can learn, play, and gain knowledge of life skills, HIV/AIDS prevention, and local culture. Many of the children are from impoverished families or disenfranchised minority groups. See our website at www.rakdek.or.th for more information about our projects and target beneficiaries.
Volunteer Tasks:
1) Plan, design, and teach regular after-school English lessons to small groups of children or youth.
2) During school breaks (October and April), holidays, or occasional weekends, plan, design, and run activities for day camps.
3) Teach after-school lessons or run activities tailored to your skills – for example, art, conservation, dance, health, etc. Share your special talent with the disadvantaged children of northern Thailand!
4) When necessary, assist with producing and editing English project documentation.
Cost:
There is no program fee. You will be responsible for covering your cost of living. We can help you find inexpensive housing in an apartment or guesthouse.
Length of stay:
Minimum one week, but the longer, the better.
How to Apply:
Please send your cover letter and resume highlighting any past teaching, child care, or international experience to tlsdf@csloxinfo.com.
