Project Transitions is a local HIV/AIDS non-profit that runs three supportive housing programs, an HIV/AIDS hospice house and a thrift store. Our programs support and assist people and their families who are living with HIV/AIDS in Central Texas. More information can be found on our website: http://projecttransitions.org

You can help us create community, provide support and offer continuing education to our residents by volunteering in a hands-on atmosphere at Roosevelt Gardens, one of our housing complexes.

Volunteer opportunities at Roosevelt Gardens include:

-Teaching relaxation/stress-coping activity classes.
-Finding low-budget home decorations or art for residents' apartments: either creating it from scratch or purchasing from a thrift store.
-Teaching workout classes: yoga, walking club, aerobics.
-Facilitating a sewing or knitting circle.
-Teaching nutrition classes: health and culinary workshops.
-Teaching computer classes or resume-writing classes.
-Assisting in the planning of a mini, on-site, resource fair.
-Organizing sports nights.
-Facilitating a community gardening club.
-Collecting articles, editing, and assisting with a newsletter.
-Reading to children at story time.
-Facilitating an adult book club.
-Organizing board game nights.
-Cooking a weekly group meal for residents, at the same time each week. (This is a group volunteer opportunity).
-Consulting on IT matters.
