Bike & Build Volunteer Opportunities 2009 -2010
About Bike & Build: Through fund-raising cycling trips, Bike & Build raises money for and awareness of affordable housing efforts. Our events act as a catalyst to build homes, foster the spirit of service, and empower young adults... mile by mile, house by house.
We are an exciting, growing organization that offers a great opportunity for an intern looking to gain first hand nonprofit experience or strengthen existing skills.

Reports to: Executive Director

Key Responsibilities:
Support the organization in several areas including;
• Assist Bike & Build staff with administrative tasks and projects as needed
• Assist Executive Director with special projects as needed; could include funding research, corporate sponsorship possibilities, public relations, advocacy and outreach
• Establish contact with various nonprofit, business and community leaders on behalf of Bike & Build. Research organizations, set up meetings for Bike & Build.
• Potential for additional projects and responsibilities throughout the semester or year.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Interest in mission of Bike & Build
• Strong interest in nonprofit work/organizations. Experience preferred but not required
• Strong writing skills
• Strong research skills
• Reliability, dependability are a MUST
• Energetic, professional attitude
• Careful attention to detail
• Ability to work hard, meet deadlines and complete assigned projects
• Sense of humor, flexibility, and willingness to be part of our dynamic team are a must!

Hours of Work: Minimum commitment of 4 hours a week.
Weekdays: Between the hours of 9 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Ideally 8 hours a week. Ideal for college students...Possibility for a semester or continued longer into spring/summer/fall 2010.
