Description:

The title of the position is Liaison to the Guatemalan Ministry of Health. This position reports to the Board Secretary of Clinic Link.

The overall responsibility of this position is to create and maintain a line of communications between the Guatemalan Ministry of Health and our organization.

The key task is to establish a relationship with one or more individuals within the Guatemalan Ministry of Health. Initially, the goal is to introduce them to our organization, and to explain our project and goals to them. Ultimately, we would want to gain their approval for certain aspects of the website, for example, a Patient Privacy Policy. Further, we would like to have one or more contacts who can keep us updated about new regulations that affect traveling medical clinics.

The liaison would consult with the Board Secretary regarding correspondence and communications, and with the Executive Director regarding items directly affecting the design or content of the website.

Tasks related to the position include:
•Communications with the Ministry as needed to create and maintain relationships.
•Translations of Ministry correspondence and materials as needed.
•Staying abreast of site development via regular conversations with the Executive Director and/or written updates provided by the Executive Director.
•A written summary of communications to the Board as needed, with a minimum expectation of quarterly updates in time for each Board meeting in January, April, July and October.

Expected time commitment: It is expected that the average time commitment for this position will be less than five hours per week. However, there will be times, particularly leading up to the quarterly Board meetings, that the time requirement may exceed that.

Qualifications for this position include:
•Fluency in Spanish, both written and oral
•Understanding and appreciation of the culture and traditions of Guatemala
•Willingness to initiate relationships and communications
