Description:
Aimed at 18-25 year olds.
Projects start with a one week induction course covering safety, security, teaching techniques and language lessons, followed by 3 months living and working in rural Uganda, near to Jinja. A wonderfully unique experience for cultural exchange - learning about the traditions, history & language of the local people. Spend approximately 20 lessons per week teaching core subjects (English, Maths, Science) to local children. Or alternatively you could spend your time coaching sports - soccer, hockey, netball, rugby. Opportunities to introduce extra-curricular subjects such as sports, art, drama, music etc.
After term ends you will have three weeks of independent travel - a great chance to explore more of East Africa. The project is finished of with a 5 day safari in Kenya.
Prices from US$5500, which includes pre-departure information, a telephone interview if we are not able to meet you, accommodation and food allowance during 3 month term, safari in Kenya and 24 hour in-country support.
