General Description:
The energetic and committed Program and Volunteer Coordinator will work to ensure the effectiveness of the programs offered at Teen Voices. This will primarily be done by providing administrative support to program director and program coordinator, developing interdepartmental systems that will ensure data integrity and accuracy, and enhancing/maintaining the volunteer recruitment/retention systems of the organization. This volunteer position is ideal for any person who is interested in learning about how to develop and sustain innovative nonprofit, gender specific programming for diverse, committed teens in a program with a social justice philosophy.

Responsibilities

Assist the Program Director in program and volunteer recruitment work, including:

•Ensure administrative accuracy for all aspects of the teen programs by supporting Program Director.
•Oversee teen program evaluation data processes.
•Coordinate program award ceremonies.
•Coordinate all program paperwork and records through the database.
•Delegate work for interns to build capacity of department.
•Prepare special reports and program materials as requested by Program Director.
•Develop programmatic partnerships with other community organizations to broaden the scope of services, information and programming provided for Teen Voices constituents including documentation of these partnerships for future use and sustainability.
•Strategically connect with the existing network of colleges and service agencies in order to effectively recruit volunteers.
•Outreach to specific college/post graduate organizations and clubs to recruit more mentors of color.
•Interview mentors and editorial interns to place them appropriately in the program; refer interested volunteers to appropriate departments for consideration.
•Develop a sustainable communication system between program and development departments, to ensure fulfillment of all funder requirements. This will streamline the process of information sharing with the ultimate goal of increased and effective communication and productivity.
•Research and connect with previous program participants to build alumnae network and expand Teen Voices Community and expand understanding of organizational effectiveness.
•Develop tracking system for active applicants, waitlisted applicants special event participants including accurate and timely entry of program participant information into the organizational database.
•Other duties as assigned by program director.
