June 16, 1998: The Points of Light Foundation announces the launch of GOV-VPM, a new
website and online discussion group dedicated to resource sharing for
those who work with volunteers in government settings. Academics
researching the topic are also welcome to join the discussion group
where subscribers may compare notes, get advice, share resources and
support one another. The web site contains information on joining the
online discussion group, as well as news, articles and links to related
resources.
