Managing Your Account

How do I update an Organization or Idealist Group profile?

Answer:

In order to update your Group’s profile (please note that “Group” is an umbrella term for Nonprofit Organizations, and Idealist Groups, the two types of organizational accounts currently found on our site), you must first sign up for an Individual account and associate it to your Group’s account.

Once you have access to your Group’s account, you can edit your Group’s profile by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your Individual account by going to our homepage (http://www.idealist.org) and entering your email and password.
  2. Once you have logged in to your account, you will see your Control Panel.
  3. Click on the “Groups and Listings” tab and then on the "Edit & Post" link next to the name of your Group.
  4. On the next screen you will see your group’s Entry & Update Menu. Click on “Update Your Group’s Profile,” located along the right side of the screen.
  5. Make the necessary changes and click “Submit” at the bottom of the page.


Occasionally, after making edits or additions to content on our site, there can be a delay for the updates to appear on the public site (especially in cases of profiles and attached images). Typically, these delays last no longer than a few hours. We thank you for your patience!
