What is the difference between archive and delete?

Answer:

If you want to remove a listing from Idealist, you have two options: archive or delete. Archived listings do not appear published on Idealist but remain in your account for future reference or to be used as a template for new listings. Deleted listings are eliminated permanently from your account and our database.

To remove (archive/delete) your listing from our website, please do the following:

  1. Visit www.idealist.org and enter your email address and password in the Member Login box on the right side of the screen. You will be taken to your control panel.
  2. Click on the "Groups and Listings" tab and then on the "Edit & Post" link found next to the name of your organization. You will be taken to the "Entry & Update" menu.
  3. Click on the type of listing that you wish to remove from our site. A list of all of your current listings of that type will appear.
  4. To eliminate a listing from our database, click on the corresponding "Delete" link. If you wish to remove a listing from our public site but leave it on our database to be used as a template for future listings, click on the corresponding "Archive" link.
