What does the whole process look like?
Answer:
After you fill out the initial interest form we will send you the names of a small group of organizations, as well as the link to each of their profiles on Idealist.org. You will then perform a quick online search for one of the organizations' current contact information. When you find an email and contact for the organization, you will then type the contact information into an online form (we will also send you the link to this form). Please include as much information as possible, although the most important information to include in the form is the organization's name and the email of a staff member. After filling in the new information, you have completed the process for the first organization. You then move on to complete the same steps for the other organizations.
If you cannot find a webpage for the organization, but you do find a phone number, you can also call the organization to ask for current information. There is a sample telephone script available on the following page: LINK.
If you would prefer to not make phone calls for this project, that is completely fine. We do, however, ask that you send us the list of organizations for which you could not find any contact information. When you finish the list of organizations, simply send an email to userrelations@idealist.org with a list of the organizations that you could not find.
After you finish the list of organizations, if you would like to continue helping, please send an email to userrelations@idealist.org to request a new list of organizations.
