Come to Our Nonprofit Career Fairs...and Lend a Hand! We're hosting some big events in the coming weeks, and could use your help making them more accessible.![]() This box will be there. Will you? First up is a new twist on one of our old favorites. What do you get when you combine a well-known national "career fair for do-gooders" tour with an ongoing, creative, thoughtful local conference? You get the first ever Minneapolis Idealist.org Nonprofit Career Fair and Working for Change conference! If you can make it on Monday, you'll not only have the chance to mingle with more than 70 organizations -- you'll also experience the annual Working for Change conference. We've joined forces to allow you to explore careers with a focus on social justice, with particular focus on jobs in the nonprofit sector. There will be speakers, workshops, and panels to attend throughout the day; information about hundreds of jobs, internships, volunteer positions and fellowships; and the good feeling that comes with sharing a room with hundreds of people who want to create a better world. …And we're asking for your help in a very big way! Do you know American Sign Language or have experience assisting people with vision impairments? Do you have another accessibility skill you could lend? If you do, we'd be grateful to have your help in Minneapolis - or any of the cities we'll be visiting in the weeks that follow. Our goal is to eventually make our events as "available" as possible to anyone who wants to find out about ways they can work for change. As the nonprofit workforce grows and changes, the skills and perspectives of people with all sorts of valuable experiences and unique perspectives are a necessary treasure. We hope to continue getting better at helping these connections happen…with your help. So if you can provide this type of skilled support and want to spend a few hours surrounded by really cool people, please click here to view our volunteer posting and get in touch with our career fair team right away. Heck, you may even end up with a neat Idealist tote bag and reusable mug to aid in your quest to avoid disposable plastics. (Did we mention we're trying to make the fairs more green, too?) Thanks for doing your part! We hope to meet you soon. |
