Spotlight On...New Zealand![]() By Flickr user Travelling Pooh Each week we bring you a roundup of what you can find on our site related to a specific country, region, or city. Today we spotlight the island nation of New Zealand. I searched Idealist today, and found 125 organizations that are based in New Zealand. Their diverse missions involve eco-adventurous volunteering, disability rights, coping with breast cancer, the self-determination of indigenous people, and much more. There are currently 16 opportunities listed to volunteer in New Zealand. Not surprisingly, most of them have to do with caring for the country's unique landscape, flora, and fauna. But you can also get involved in coaching soccer, publicizing events, or learning about Maori culture as part of your volunteer experience. So far, 179 Kiwis (New Zealanders) have made personal profiles on Idealist. Make your own profile through your Control Panel, and then connect with them to learn more! Would you like to help make more connections among people, organizations, and resources in New Zealand through the Idealist network?
